The CAT4 Level D test is taken for entry into Year 7, normally after or towards the end of Year 6 – primary school. Many selective schools will use this to ascertain if a child is able to keep up with their peers and which ability set to place the student into. A complete CAT4 test consists of eight sub-tests; with each of these tests assessing a different cognitive ability which help to determine a child’s future potential.
